Halloween cards...

Since Halloween is right around the corner I thought I'd share some cards I have done lately using the Halloween goodies I have around this mess of a scraproom!

First here are a couple cards I did using "The 31st" Noel Mignon kit!

Then here are two using the Superstition line from Dream Street Papers!

We had a tough football game last night against Cisco...our rival school... they lost by 2 in the last few minutes of the game... GRRR!
It's hard to believe we only have one more football game before this season is over! It went so fast....
Tomorrow I head over to Michelle's (her daughter is teaming with mine for the last pep rally)... we need to finish signs for our pep rally next week... pressure! I'll let ya'll all know how it goes!

ok.. off I go!

HUGE Surprise!!!

so mom texted me tonight and told me congrats on the November cover of Cards Magazine... I said there was a mistake that it wasn't my card, they didn't request my card for the cover.... well lo and behold when she sent me a picture.. IT IS MINE!!! I was shocked and giddy to boot!! so excited!! They did change the ribbon on the cover to brown, mine was originally an orange checked one...

Here is my
CPS card for the week (sketch #139)... My Favorite Things sponsored us... and I used all Glitz Papers.

Kick it Up!

I was so excited to this this book in the mail the other day along with the three layouts I had published in there... I've scanned through the book and I can see that I am going to need more time to really drool over all the good stuff in there!
All of these layouts were layouts I did for a past MMM contest (which was obviously unsuccessful! lol)... but they remain a few of my favorite layouts so I'm excited to share them with you finally! :) Thank you Greta and Angelia for using them in your book!
(click on images to make them bigger and to read journaling)

The first layout is of my dad, oh how I miss him.... he died over 3 years ago and so this layout is just a special reminder of how wonderful he was to his grandbabies!

This one is about a trip I took with a few of my best girlfriends while we were stationed in Germany. We took a 3 road trip to Holland and had the best time!

and last but not least is a layout that just documents a bit of what it's like to be a military family.

Only in Texas....

do we stay at the football fields playing till midnight...

yep last night (and all day for that matter) was the "Superbowl" for the little ones football teams. Mitchell's team played for the championship game and while gave it their best, finished in 2nd for the year. Mitchell has really grown so much in football... it's nice to see.
Matthews team ended up taking 4th (out of 4 teams.. lol) but had a fun season. Matthew did really well being this was his first year to play, he is already looking forward to being able to play in pads next year and being able to "hit someone"... lol should be interesting! :)
Now soon to be gone are the arms and legs filled with bruises and the every Saturday filled with games. Of course it's just a short time before those times are filled with basketball games... but I will love having some free weekends for a bit that's for sure!

Here is one of my latest Jillibean Soup layouts... this uses the Grandmas Christmas Soup collection... goes to show ya you can get more than Christmas projects from that line! :)
I have had this picture of the twins holding hands on my desk for ages it seems, it's one of those pictures that I totally love and was nervous to start working with, afraid I wouldn't/couldn't do it justice.... I have to say though I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Something new for my resume...

I can now add "Rattlesnake Killer" to it!
Eek! Just the other day as we were walking out to leave my middle son steps away from the house and had to pee (hey we live in the country) and looks down and says "hey mom there's a snake"... sure enough I look down and it looks like a rattler... so I go back to the house and gather my balls (ha!) and know I have to do something about this... so I get the machete and after several deep 'you can do it Kim' breaths I cut it right in half... so yeah I'm an official sssssssssssssnake killah! :)
scared the bejesus out of me I tell ya!! Here is a pic from the next day.... I carried it (with a shovel) and put it on the rock so i could get a good picture of it! lol

and some scrappy stuff....

Now that I am finally feeling better I have been able to dive into the beautiful Noel Mignon "Mill Street" kit, here is a layout I did last night.

Here is my CPS card for the week... we were sponsored by Shimmerz... I had never played with the Shimmerz before but loved the results! (CPS # 138)
Core'dinations cardstock, Jennie Bowlin patterned paper, stickers, journaling card, Jillibean Soup twine, Cornish Heritage Farms stamp, Shimmerz Blingz and Shimmerz, Clearsnap ink, American Crafts brad, EK Success flower punch

My sons football team took home another win tonight... they have only lost one game this season... so far so good!!
I will be busy trying to get more card sets done for this weekends Fall Festival at the church, being sick really set me back.. I'll share more if I get them done!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Oink be gone!

Whew... I have been down and OUT with the yucky flu! so not fun... I thought Wednesday night I might have just had a sinus infection but I knew when I woke up Thursday morning running a fever (and I remember maybe once over 8 years ago running a temp when my appendix was about to burst) that something was wrong... sure enough the damn FLU!! Well since I couldn't be around the public at all and my kids activities don't stop because mommy is sick.... my husband flew home to stay for several days and got to do all the running around.
Well I am finally functioning (and I use that term loosely.. hehe) and I hope to be creative again... I still have my beautiful Noel Mignon "Mill Street" kit (HURRY, there are only four left!) to dive into and I want to knock out more of the cards for the Fall Festival this weekend!!

Here are a couple things I have done that I wanted to share! October Afternoon was wonderful enough to send the Core'dinations team goodies to play with and this is a layout I done before the 'oink' hit me! :)

Core'dinations cardstock (Whitewash and CoreEssentials), October Afternoon paper and stickers, EK Success border punch, ScorPal tool, Maya Road chipboard, Creative Impressions heart brad, DMC floss, Jenni Bowlin stickers (small)
Up next is a card for Jillibean Soup!

Core'dinations cardstock, Fiskars scissors, Jillibean Soup Grandmas Christmas Soup collection, Jillibean Soup corrugated letters, Doodlebug brad, Martha Stewart label, EK Success flower and circle punch, Heidi Grace stick pin, Jillibean Soup felt flower

Thanks for stopping by... hopefully I can get my mojo flowing and get some projects up! :)

"Mom I need to pee!"

This is what I heard from my 7 year old last night at church

thru the elevator door.
Him and another little gal got stuck in the church's new elevator for over half an hour last night. Oh man what a bit of a nerve racking time that was... we had to wait for the elevator people to get there for the key to open it... I just stood outside it and talked to them the whole time, they were real troopers for sure! I kept asking if they were ok and then after a bit I heard "Mom I need to pee!" (all I could think about was please Matthew don't pee in the corner of that new elevator!) lol... as soon as they got it open and I tried to hug him he bolted for the bathroom! Crisis over, moms heart is beating back to normal and he didn't seem too phased by it at all!
We are still feeling like turd around here, but I have to suck it up (really what choice do I have?... oh the life of a mom!) anywho... we have football and cheer tonight out of town so it will be another late night.
Here is a layout that I did for the Noel Mignon challenge blog, we were to scrap about college days and since I don't have any pictures here of me I did one more about Morgan's dreams for college. I used the Noel Mignon 'Core Curriculum' kit for this:

and I'm back...

Whew.. what a whirlwind weekend! It was nice to have the hubby home and we spent lots of family time together! Bummer though the games on Saturday were rained out so he didn't get to see the younger 2 boys play.
This weekend was spent at the movies, the park, out to eat, church, football fields, and around the table for a family game night. Of course not one picture was taken... doh!
Now the house is sick, including me. yuck.
Matthew has only been to school a half day this week and we all just sound just awful... hopefully we will all get better very soon! I don't have the time to be sick when it's just me around here, grrr.
I recieved my new Noel Mignon kit "Mill Street" in the mail yesterday and sick or not had to create something with it quickly... it's too pretty not too! If you haven't checked it out over there, go quick! The kits sell out fast over there! :)And of course my CPS card for the week! We were sponsored by Clear and Simple stamps this month... fun stuff!

Core'dinations cardstock, Jillibean Soup Grandma's Christmas Soup collection, Clear and Simple HoliDazzle set, Storage Unit Inks & More ink, Making Memories ribbon, Faber-Castell watercolor pencils, Glitz Design pearls, Maya Road stick pins

Cards!

Lately I have been knocking out cards to sell up at the Fall Festival at church... so I pulled out my older Making Memories papers I got at Michaels awhile back... I'm a bit in love with it all once again... good stuff! I have lots more to make, these are coming together so quickly too, gotta love that! Obviously this will break into a couple Thank You sets... hopefully they do well! :)

Tomorrow is an exciting day around the Moreno household, daddy is coming in (my dh! hehe)... the kids are so excited, it's been a long while since we have had him home (May I think was the last time for a few days?)... anywho... he will get to see each of the kids in all their stuff! Tomorrow is pep rally and Morgan football, Friday night football, Saturday is Matthew and Mitchells games, then Sunday church... so we are expecting to have a fun weekend! :)
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Weekend ReCap!

We had a full weekend around here...
Thursday was football/cheer day! The Dogies had another winning week... yeah!!Morgan is #12
Saturday was filled with RipFest activities, beginning with the parade! Madison and Morgan rode on the middle school football/cheerleader float and the girls got down in front of the courthouse and did a little dance for all (way cute!). I had a hard time getting a picture of Morgan on the float because he was sitting right in the middle.... doesn't he know that I need pictures? (of course he could care less... he's in the middle of his group of friends talking away! ha!) Makenna rode the little cheerleader float just as cute as ever!
Here is the middle school float (Madison is standing up with her back to us, second from right)Madison with Lexi and Stephanie and Tony the Tiger at the parade:
This little guy rode this mechanical bull all through the parade:
I totally loved the little flags on the end of this Longhorns horns:

Ol' Rip:

Makenna and her friend Taylor riding the Little Cheerleaders float:
Then we spent the day drooling over all the goodies in the booths and buying up jewelry for the girls and I. Morgan spent the day (in heaven I might add cause I let his leash out a bit) walking around and hanging with his friends. (Keep in mind this is a small town and I saw him all the time or knew someone who has seen him.. hehe).

Then both Matthew and Mitchell had football games... so we went into town around 8:30am and didn't get home until 7pm... full day for sure!!

Sunday morning Madison started not feeling well before we went to church but I needed to go up still and get a few things done and once we got home she is now throwing up and spending her day in bed :( I feel like turd too, so hopefully it's not something we will spread all around! :(

And to finish with something scrappy. This is my card for this week over at CPS... this is the #136 sketch)... we were sponsored by GinaK stamps... they have some GREAT stamp sets over there, check them out! :)

**OUT FOR PUBLICATION**

Jillibean Soup Kraft cardstock, Jillibean Soup-Soup Staples collection, Walmart ribbon, Doodlebug sugar cardstock (for candles), GinaK stamp, Storage Unit Inks & More ink, Fiskars border punch, Kaisercraft jewels, Creative Memories corner rounder

I'm a workin' woman now!

Well it looks like I will be entering the work force again after 13 years of staying home... well at least part time! LOL
Last night at church they asked if I would be interested in subbing at the Mulberry School (preschool) and I jumped at the chance. Sounds good to me and the pay is right... it will be nice to pull in a little extra income but then I still have the option to turn it down if I have sick kids etc....
ok on to scrappy things...
I have really been loving my Jillibean Soup- Soup Staples lately... they are FUN to mix with other JB lines, here are a couple examples...

Core'dinations cardstock, Jillibean Soup- Soup Staples collection and Talk Soup collection, Jillibean Alphabeans, Jillibean corrugated letters, Martha Stewart border punch, Marvy Uchida star punch, Bazzill chipboard star, Clearsnap ink, American Crafts brads.

Jillibean Soup Talk Soup collection and Soup Staples collection, Jillibean Soup ribbon, Jillibean Soup stamps, Jillibean Journaling Sprouts, Doodlebug button, Maya Road stick pins, DMC floss.
