Check it out!

Today is my day over on the Gossamer Blue blog with a quick article on lifting yourself... no not actually getting your body off the ground (lets be honest... that would take a crane for me! lol)... I mean scraplifting yourself! Here is my layout I did using the April Gossamer Blue kit (the "high" in high school alpha was from a previous kit):

and a little close up:

10 Min. Craft Dash Challenge!

Hi everyone!
I know... brace yourself this is 2 days in a row of posting! lol

When I first heard of the 10 minute Craft Dash challenge I really thought there was no way.. I simply push things around for far too long to be able to accomplish anything in 10 minutes... but surprisingly so I DID IT!!! with seconds to spare! :)

and here's my card! I kept it fairly simple and easy by using die cuts and stickers! I used the April Gossamer Blue kit (everything used on the card but the white ribbon is in the kit)

-Hello Happiness-

 *Time: 9 minutes 50 Seconds*

Would you like to play along? Head over to the Craft Dash Challenge blog and load up your card!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

April Gossamer Blue Projects!

Hi y'all!

Just stopping by from the world of go go go to post my Gossamer Blue April projects! I had so much fun with this kit! As soon as it arrived at my door I already had pictures printed and I was ready to rock and roll and whipped up 5 quick layouts!

First up is a Main Kit only layout: love this sweet picture of my youngest daughter and a group of her friends from school.. they are so darn cute! :)

Next up are some pictures of my oldest daugher that I have loved for so long.. this was our sweet puppy 'Zeeb'... he's no longer with us (hit by a car...:(...) and this paper was just perfect to finally get these pictures scrapped! I handwrote the title and used my microtip scissors to cut it out... I used the chevron/arrow paper and cut it into strips and weaved it in the top right corner- love the way this came out!

Next up is a quick layout (other than the stitching! lol) of my daughter and her friend Halle posing for me in the hotel we stayed at during my sons State baseball tournament! They are such hams!

Last was such a quick layout for me! I came back into my scrap room and literally put this together in less than 30 minutes... which is a total miracle for me! I have had these pictures printed for awhile and didn't at first thing I would be able to use them with this kit either till I started pulling paper and realized it was perfect!! I used a bunch of the Color Kit for this layout with the accents of the gold! I am usually not a big gold fan but I have to say I lOVE it in this layout- so perfect!
The award she got here was awarded to one top student in the entire band... and she got it! Couldn't be more proud of her!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to check out the April kit creations!! I am already looking forward to May's kit! :)
Stop by tomorrow for a special 10 minute card challenge! :)

"My Core'dinations Creative Frenzy"

I'm excited to share my Core'dinations design team entry!

I have loved Core since the very beginning and was a member of their very first design team and had spent many years on the team... and I would love a chance to be apart of it again!
Core'dinations cardstock is a unique cardstock with a colored core and is great for sanding, embossing, tearing etc... Core'dinations gives your project a unique look that regular cardstock can't give!
I think I'd be a great asset to the team because well... let's be honest- who doesn't love cardstock? and then a cardstock with a color core, and pre-embossed designs?... yeah pretty much heaven for this girl! :)

First up for my entry is a layout about my two girls! I used the Core Amour paper as the base for my layout and sanded parts here and there throughout the paper to bring out the core color. I used my ScorPal to dry emboss the lines on the brown cardstock and then flipped it over and lightly sanded the raised lines... I love the little subtle touches you are able to bring to cardstock using this technique- it really helps to frame this layout and give it just a simple extra touch.  I also tore the bottom of the brown paper and layered it with the pink paper and tore it along the bottom as well. I then sanded the Fancy Pants Core Impressions paper and cut out the embossed design and added it behind my photo and embellished it with little jewels. I also lightly sanded the Whitewash paper to reveal the pink flowery pattern and core and layered it with some glitter silk cardstock to ground my photos. I then cut out several "branches" from the Core'dinations paper and lightly sanded them to reveal the core and used them as embellishments and to add a pop of color to my layout.

and a couple close up of the techniques:

Next up I used the Stacy Julian Core'dinations Collection... I LOVE the bright colors and phrases in this collection! I lightly sanded the background paper to reveal the frame for my layout. I then used several chipboard stars and placed them behind the red cardstock and used my Sand It Gadget to sand on the front of the cardstock over the chipboard stars to reveal the shapes. I love this technique because it opens up a whole new world on creating backgrounds and embellishments for your layouts. You can use any raised shape behind the cardstock and by simply sanding the front can reveal the image... fun stuff!!
I then sanded the yellow Stacy Julian cardstock to reveal the pre-embossed words.. this collection was perfect because these words describe these boys perfectly! lol I also sanded the "laughter" from the cardstock and cut it out to use as an embellishment on my layout. To create the stars I cut them from the blue cardstock and used an embossing folder to create the dots and then sanded the cardstock to reveal the color core.

and a close up of the paper tearing and embossing....

and for my final entry I did a couple quick cards using the Core'dinations cardstock. This card features sanding and tearing using the Cosmo Cricket Classics and Jenni Bowlin Vintage Brights.

and another quick and easy teacher card using the Jenni Bowlin Vintage Brights and Cosmo Crickets Neutral Collection.  I sanded the pre-embossed cursive paper and used it as the base of my card. I then used my ScorPal again along the top of my red cardstock to create the embossed lines and sanded them to reveal the color core and then tore it along the bottom. I created quick embellishments using the Jenni Bowlin paper by sanding the pre-embossed letters and cutting them out. I love how quick this card came together by using the pre-embossed paper!

I mentioned earlier I was a member of the Core'dinations first ever design team... and while looking through my folder of Core'dinations projects I found my very first design team entry and thought it would be fun to share it... I have had a love of Core for a long time now! :)

Here are the two layouts that I submitted for my first DT entry many, many years ago! *grin* They are still two of my favorites using Core'dinations cardstock too!

I hope you've enjoyed my entry and I would love to be honored to be apart of the Core'dinations team again!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

March GBProjects!

Hi all! Life is as usual busy around these parts!
We are finally done with high school basketball and Morgan has moved on to track season and baseball season... yes they run together so to say he is whooped at night would be an understatement!
Mitchell and Madison have also started track season... we had our first (I say "our" Haha... let's be honest.. this girl isn't running anything! lol)... All three of the older ones run long distance (They got that from their daddy for sure... momma was a sprinter! lol)... Morgan and Mitchell both did very well! Morgan took 2nd in the 2mile and 3rd in the mile running varsity and Mitchell took first in the 2 mile and 3rd in the mile... running excellent times too! Madison is having quad problems so I just won't post her place here... lol
Good news again... Madison made VARSITY cheer again for next year... so excited to have those tryouts behind us again this year... so stressful to say the least!
The twins are just as busy with Makenna playing on a travel basketball team and just now moving into softball season (where I help coach)... and Matthew has moved into the all star basketball season and is picking up soccer again with a traveling team...

and if you have read through all that... bless you. :)

Now onto the good stuff! My March Gossamer Blue projects!!

First up is a page I did of the older two heading out to a New Years party... I Loved these pictures of the kids and wanted to incorporate that fun fringe in the Color Kit... but wasn't quite sure how... I love how this turned out though... so fun and festive! :)

This one might be my favorite for the month... maybe it's just the theme behind it though! lol... Madisons boyfriend had been texting me the whole week of Valentines to help him with ideas for her... and then he asked me to help with ask her to prom for this year. I was of course happy to help! He dropped over 250 tea light candles at my work and asked if I would spell out "prom?" in my driveway so when he brought her home from their Valentines date he could walk her down the hill to see it all lit up... keep in mind we live out in the sticks so it was pitch black besides the words "prom?"... as i lit the last candles and was walking in the house I heard Madison literally *gasp*... made it all worth it... he did a great job... and of course she said YES! :)
The journaling is in the pull out tab next to the title.

up next are some of my favorite pictures i have taken of the twins... i just wanted to put together a fun layout to document them! :)

and lastly a layout of my youngest son Matthew... this is his little group of friends... and they always give each other grief over something of another... today just happened to Matthews day and they were all giving him a hard time about always crossing his arms in pictures... and decided to mimic him! lol

I JUST recieved my April GB kit... I seriously don't know how Lori does it each month putting together this huge bunch of goodness... if you aren't signed up to recieve monthly kits yet... jump.on.it.
seriously... I promise you won't regret it!
